Battle (戦い , Tatakai) is chapter 26 of the Beelzebub manga.
Summary[]
By the river, Tōjō, revealed to be carrying Beelzebub on his shoulder, calls for a fight with Oga. Realizing Beelzebub hanging on to Tōjō, Furuichi tries to guess Oga’s reaction to what is happening. Knowing how trashy Oga is, Furuichi thinks Oga will raise his fist up and blissfully proclaim luckiness. It turns out he does, only his proclamation is more deflated. Oga, feeling insane, points to Furuichi that Beelzebub is stuck to Tōjō and calls Tōjō an idiot for that. Seeing that he no longer needs to force Beelzebub on another person, he walks home into the river. Furuichi tries to stop him, but Oga proclaims that the river is his home. Tōjō laughs at Oga, while Shōji says that Oga probably isn’t worth fighting. Furuichi drags Oga out of the river, telling him to calm down. Thinking Oga was panicking about Beelzebub, Furuichi tries to ask Tōjō if the baby on his back is really his, or if he just picked him off the street. Tōjō promises to tell him if Oga wins a fight against him. Oga is annoyed by the fact that Tōjō plans on fighting with Beelzebub on his back, despite the fact that, to Furuichi’s realization, Oga fights with Beelzebub on his back himself. Seeing Shōji take Beelzebub off Tōjō’s back, Furuichi is shocked that Beelzebub can distance himself from Tōjō despite having been attached to him. Face-to-face with Oga, Tōjō claims that the both of them are fighting junkies and that no one else is as strong as them. Oga calls him messed up, while Furuichi wonders what would happen if Tōjō wins and Shōji still believes Oga is no match for Tōjō.
The fight begins with Oga and Tōjō landing punches on each other. Oga is sent flying into the river. Tōjō taunts Oga, while Shōji thinks that Oga is finished as no one can take Tōjō’s blow and stand up. Oga rises from the river and spits, walking back to Tōjō. Again, the two land punches on each other, but this time, Tōjō is sent flying back onto the ground. Shōji runs to help Tōjō, but Tōjō stands up feeling enthusiastic over Oga. Shōji is shocked by the fact that for the first time, Tōjō had been blown back. Walking back to Oga, Tōjō tries to confirm with him if he finds their fight getting interesting too.
