WelcomeEdit

Hi, welcome to Beelzebub by Tamura Ryuuhei Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Template:Chapter Infobox page. If you need help, and there are no local admins here, you may want to visit the forums on the Community Central Wiki. You can also check our Staff blog to keep up-to-date with the latest news and events around Wikia. Happy editing, Sarah Manley(help forum | blog) —This unsigned comment was made by Wikia (talkcontribs) on 16:18, August 16, 2010.

adopting Edit

Hi. Great job on the wiki so far. I have granted you admin and bureaucrat rights, so you should be able to implement the sync queue. Good luck and have fun! -- Wendy (talk) 02:27, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

Oga Edit

Hi I have been a wikia user for quite some tiome and have been doing edits fr a while too..

I recently made a few edits to the Oga page with detailed plot summaries (written by me) and a few pictures, and my user can no longer edit pages.

I was wondering if I was reported for anything. kind of a "let me know" if I did anything wrong :( I have many edits with this account and so i was wondering...

Hope you respond! —This unsigned comment was made by 99.234.137.220 (talkcontribs) on 00:13, October 7, 2010.

PsyrenEdit

Thanks for the welcome but are u also reading Psyren? It's made by Ryuhei Tamuras teacher. Its really cool. —This unsigned comment was made by Lazymex (talkcontribs) on 21:08, October 26, 2010.

I don't know nothing about nothing on this xD so i'll just try my best not to screw anything up and i do not understand why Psyren , Beelzebub and lots of other manga aren't as popular as Naruto but much better, one last thing do you know how many people are contributing to this page? P.s from Iceland , u? Lazymex 15:38, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

Hello, about Toujou and Kunieda debut Edit

I want to talk about the fact that Toujou and Kunieda real manga debut happens in chapters 15 and 10 respectively, I don't deny they are mentioned in chapter 6, and yeah, I saw page 15 of chapter 6, it is the same as the one the wikia has on the tohoshinki page. But my point here, is that they are only mentioned, the great proof is that they only appear as silhouettes of their backs in Natsume and Shiroyama memories. That's not enough to be considerate an appearance (instead of a mention) nor a debut, which is the first time we see the character in the official time and space of the series. In chapter 6 Himekawa, Kunieda and Toujou are simply mentioned by Natsume and Shiroyama, and to be more illustrated about them, we see their silhouettes, yet later in the chapter we see the real Himekawa, and by that him making his full debut.

I will use other series as examples, in Naruto, Itachi's debut happens in chapter 139, but before that he is constantly mentioned and constantly seen in Sasuke memories. The same thing happens with Pain, we constantly see him as silhouettes, but the first we oficially see him, is on chapter 372, if memory serves, which is considered his full debut.

With this that I just said, we can even said that the real full debut of Toujou happens in chapter 23, Entry!!, where is the first time we saw his face.

Anyway, I also wanted to thanks for the chance of discussion about the fact. That's the real only way of settling this kind of things. —This unsigned comment was made by 190.22.135.46 (talkcontribs) on 13:39, January 31, 2011.

To the reader, any silhouette is technically an appearance within the manga series, not just physical appearances. That's why I wanted to follow the order of the manga series rather than the time and space of the plot because these "first appearances" within the infoboxes were meant to be described based on the order of the series, not its plot.
In the case of Kunieda and Tojo, their first ever appearances (as silhouettes) within the manga series trumps their first physical appearances by order. ~~FOMA (talk) 15:18, February 1, 2011 (UTC)
Even if what you say its teorically truth, and the mention of them in silhouettes, counts as an appearance and not a mention, let me remind you that what we are talking about here in the first place is the debut of Kunieda and Toujou and not their first appearances (The infoboxes says clearly "Manga Debut" and not "First Appearance in the Manga"). The "Debut" of a character is the first time we see the character doing something for the progress of the story and plot, with that said, this "appearances", has nothing to do with them doing something in the story, because the ones making something for the plot are Natsume and Shiroyama, illustrating the members of the Tohoshinki without reveling their true faces.
So, yeah, I don't deny that Chapter 6 can be their official first appearance in the series, but that doesn't mean it's also their official debut as characters of Beelzebub. The first time Kunieda does something for the plot is in chapter 10 and Toujou, well, we can discuss that it could be chapter 15 or 23, but I think that's for another time.
My bad, I didn't check the infoboxes. Still, I think it'd be more appropriate to define a "debut" as a first appearance within the series, not the storyline which excludes illustrations by fictional characters as you put it. The description of "debut" should focus more on the perspective of the readers, so I don't think it should matter if their first appearances are physical or not to count them as debuts. Also, please remember to sign your posts with four tildes (TrOjAnHoRsEx 10:36, November 14, 2011 (UTC)). ~~FOMA (talk) 17:20, February 1, 2011 (UTC)
The thing is that you can't ignore the storyline, after all without it there will be no series. Continuing what you said about the perspective of the readers, the problem is that in my perspective, as a reader, remains in the storyline, then for me, I do agree that the debut is the first time I see the character doing something for the progress of the plot. If we take the definition of debut "a person's first appearance in a capacity or role" (taken from wordreference), then in their appearance in Chapter 6 they still have no role in the plot, as the appearance of their silhouettes, along with Kanzaki and the silhouette of Himekawa serves as an introduction to the Tohoshinki as an organization.
Sorry, I'm still relatively new to the commands of the wikias and similars, but I think I signed right this time 190.22.135.46 18:02, February 1, 2011 (UTC)
But what if there's an imaginary character that persists in someone's mind and never has a role in the storyline? Is it appropriate to call no debut on that character?
On another note, if you're Kentaru Z (and I'm pretty sure you are), how come you never log in when you talk to me? I just find it strange, that's all. And yes, you signed correctly. ~~FOMA (talk) 22:08, February 3, 2011 (UTC)
You said it there yourself FOMA (Don't mind being called FOMA, right?), "an imaginary character that persists in someone's mind", the role of that character is that, by thus, that kind of character represents an exception (as there is an exception to every rule) as they participate in the storyline but in a particular way (Not directly interfering in the progress of the plot but helping in the development of it), take for example Inner-Sakura from Naruto (although, if memory serves, I think this character does participate at one point during the chunin's exam, when Ino possesses Sakura, but that again, was like a progress of the own character of Inner Sakura based on all the planting of her that was seeded before that particual crucial moment) and Dr. T from Slam Dunk (I know he's author, but he's still an official character in the series), both of them serves the plot in a particular way, like explaining things or giving comic-relief, even insight of the characters. And by thus, they do have their debuts. Another example are Akira Kogami and Minoru Shiraishi from Lucky Star, although they appear sometimes in the normal series, their true role is the Lucky Channel.
For personal issues (that I will gladly explain when the right time came), I prefer to keep my user identity secret for the time being, sorry if this is an inconvenient.190.22.254.20 00:22, February 4, 2011 (UTC)
Actually, I was planning on categorizing the headings in the infobox, with a "First Appearance" heading above the debut headings anyways, like in the Bleach Wiki character infoboxes. ~~FOMA (talk) 17:10, February 9, 2011 (UTC)
Well, the Bleach Wiki is a very good and professional wikia. And we use the same kind of infoboxes here in the Beelzebub wiki, so it may actually look good. But the thing is that we still haven't resolve our discussion about Toujou's and Kunieda's Debut. And I have seen that the Bleach Wiki (just like the Naruto Wiki) does share my view of when a character debuts. And also it seems that for both wikias, it does matter if their first appearances were physical or not in the storyline to count them as a "first appearance" or not (Something I also share with them). So, you will still maintain that Toujou and Kunieda Debuts happens in chapter 6? I have given you a lot of arguments about why their debut happens in chapter 10 (Kunieda) and chapter 15 (Toujou), and you have also gived me arguments back, but in your last reply, you didn't gave any argument to kept saying that it was in another chapter.
I'm sure all this discussion is starting to pester you, and I'm sorry if that's the case. I respect your work, because I can see how serious you are in it. You are not willing to add information which is based only in speculations, and that's exactly why I didn't kept discussing about calling the Great Demon King "Beelzebub III" in his infobox, or translate Berubō as Baby Beel, because you were right in those two. But just as I told you in the Great Demon King talk, all this discussions I started them just because I also want this wikia to be as professional and good as the Naruto and Bleach Wikis. And all this little details are the ones that will make the true difference with the others unprofessional wikis and eventually transform the Beelzebub Wiki into a great and professional wikia. 190.22.222.103 20:30, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
Well, I think as of now, you've convinced me enough to let you go on with what you've proposed here. Keep in mind though, I may have left debuts in other characters infoboxes based on my old system. Do feel free to change them by the new system you've proposed.
Also, I really appreciate how far you're willing to go to make this Wiki professional. I feel privileged to find someone willing to go the extra mile to make this Wiki outstanding because there aren't many people like you out here in the Wikia universe. --FOMA (Talk) 01:22, February 13, 2011 (UTC)
Then, with this discussion finished, I think its safe to reveal myself, indeed I was Kentaru Z (You can call me Kentaru Z or Kentaru), but I prefered to keep myself anonymous because of previous bad experiences I had with admins. It was nothing personal against you, but it was a really bad experience I suffered in another wikia, that was so unprofessional to leave tons of pages filled with fan speculated information (Not even marked as speculations or even trivia, but as real information), so, I started to correct them and the admin blocked me, accusing me of vandalism, and whenever I tried to discuss my block, he deleted my messages. (At that time I didn't knew how to resolve a problem like that so I just surrendered...) After I saw we were going to have to discuss this matter, I prefered to sign out (to keep my account safe) and stay anonymous for the time being, but seeing that you are willing to talk this matters I'm happy to say that I can trust admins again and I don't need to hide my identity anymore.
So, I will do my best to help improve the wikia as much as I can, Commander FOMA (I hope you don't mind being called that...), and I will start by checking the debuts of all the characters. Also I wanted to talk about another subject of the wikia (more of a esthetic matter related to the infoboxes, I don't know if to say it here, or start a new talk, but I will wait your answer, for now, let's get to work!!!). Wikia Anime on Twitter Edit

Hello, I'm Kate from the Wikia Content team. We are trying to create a WikiaAnime Twitter group, where all of the amazing wikis can come together and share their most exciting information, and hopefully get a lot of new users! To join, all you need to do is post this Twitter button and tweet list on your main page.

Twitterbutton

Then you can visit the Anime Twitter Suggestions Page and post tweets you'd like to see, with links back to your wiki.

Please share this with your other members and admins and see if it's something they'd be interested in joining! Let me know if you have any questions, and we hope to see you there! Kate.moon 04:00, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I put the Twitter button on the mainpage. It's been doing really well on other anime wikis and I hope this will help you guys get more buzz and traffic that you deserve! The background skin is awesome ;) Kate.moon 04:07, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

I appreciate the support! Both manga and anime can be/and are featured on Anime Twitter! I'd be happy to put it up on any wiki (or you can do it yourself using the code) that's manga or anime-related. And let me know if you'd like to tweet something specific about any of the wikis that you're an admin in. Leave a message [1] and I'll do it for you :) Kate.moon 06:06, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, I put the Twitter button on your talk pages. It's been updated so that it shows up now. Thanks for doing that! Let me know if you'd like me to tweet anything! I try to basically promote any interesting or unique articles and news pertaining to anime/manga wikis. Kate.moon 18:06, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

Kunieda's grandadEdit

There are two Kunieda's Grandfather pages (my fault, sorry) shouldn't one be deleted? --Masgrande 12:10, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

Kaoru and Ryouko Edit

Hey, thanks for editing the Red Tails page, but where did you get Kaoru's last name? I never saw Ryoko and Kaoru's last names, but they have one and they don't look wrong at all! I'm curious, thanks, since the Red Tails are my favourite group. 124.182.149.68 02:36, March 12, 2011 (UTC)

Hey there! It looks like you didn't see my first message since your IP changed, so I'm re-posting it here:
It was actually me who added in their names. I found their names on the Japanese Wikipedia Beelzebub page here. I'm guessing like a few other characters throughout the series, their bios (which include their full names) were included in some of the newly released volumes. --FOMA (Talk) 02:39, March 12, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for informing me! I guess it must have been apart of an extra from one of the volumes or something, I'll go looking for it! Thanks again! —This unsigned comment was made by 124.182.149.68 (talkcontribs) on 10:13, March 12, 2011.

No problem! ^_^ --FOMA (Talk) 10:14, March 12, 2011 (UTC)

Crunchyroll VideosEdit

Hey! We wanted to let you know about a really great new feature for Beelzebub Wiki! Crunchyroll and Wikia Anime have partnered up and we now have the ability to watch Beelzebub videos from CR right on the wiki. Is this something you'd be interested in trying out? We can enable videos here and then if you decide you don't want them later on we can disable them. We wanted to offer you this exciting opportunity! Let me know if you have any questions! Thank you for answering ^^. I was planning on editing, and i wanted to start editing the character page, but i don't understand how to put new images. I mean, i remove the old ones to put the new fitting with the new character images in character pages, but when i put them, i don't manage to put them in the center of the table, they're always too much on left or on the right. I'm noob so please be patient :O Stormbrigader 15:46, August 31, 2011 (UTC)

IntroductionEdit

Greetings, I go by C. Phantom and I'm an admin and bureaucrat of Kuroshitsuji Wiki. A healthy suggestion is for you to edit the commmunity section of the sidebar and link to administrators so I and other users can locate you more efficiently.

I have a question to ask of you and that's how did you manage to sync your wiki to Animepedia from what I've seen of Template:Quote. You must be busy with your wiki but if you can help me, that would be very much appreciated. Please respond on my talk page.

I've also made a Template:Color for this wiki if you don't mind. In addition, if you need any help like for instance making a poll on your homepage or other special templates, don't hesitate to ask. I would also contribute to this wiki in my free time. C. Phantom  TalkContribs 00:55, September 18, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the info and its a pity that wasn't able to contact Dantman before he decided to stop sync queue. I suppose Kuroshitsuji Wiki will have to remain like that for now. You should drop by Kuroshitsuji Wiki on your free time. And the Kuroshitsuji manga is awesome if youre up to date with the latest chapters. Not that Im prompting to be an admin here but unfortunately I cant help you with the community section and other areas.

Ill help you with the other templates though; you can browse around Kuroshitsuji Wiki's templates and if theres anything you want/need to add to Beelzebub Wiki, Ill be glad to make the templates for you. And during my free time, Ill be sure to add the summaries for the chapters and info to the characters since I major at that in Kuroshitsuji Wiki.

Are you the only admin here though? C. Phantom  TalkContribs 02:53, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

Its no problem. I noticed that this wiki has yet to have references/citations. Although I seldom do so, when I get to the chapter summaries, Ill have to leave references in order to reuse it for the characters' plot sections later. I hope you dont mind. C. Phantom  TalkContribs 02:46, September 23, 2011 (UTC)

Ive completed the summary and references for Decapitation Island (chapter). Sorry if its too verbose or wordy but I tend to add a lot of description. If you have any specific needs or problems please state them. C. Phantom  TalkContribs 01:36, September 24, 2011 (UTC)

Its ok. And I agree too that the references section is not necessary but Im only temporarily adding them now so when I edit the character's page or arc's page, Ill just copy and paste the references over so itll be easier. Dont worry Ill delete the references from the chapters when I get to it. And ok, Ill use the hepburn romanization.

About making it collapsible I used to have the same problem for my wiki. Fortunately, we discovered a way through here. Follow what Sovq said. And if its a bit confusing Ill help out so dont worry. C. Phantom  TalkContribs 02:11, October 7, 2011 (UTC)

For us it took a period of approximately one day for it to activate. Im not sure if its the same for all wikis though. C. Phantom  TalkContribs 23:13, October 8, 2011 (UTC)

Okay. I'm almost done copying the template over here from the Enigma Wiki, but I still have one big problem. The [show] button is stuck together with the "Manga" heading in the box. I want to try to move the button to the right like this infobox on the Bleach Wiki. I'm also hoping to get the word "show" to have the typical colours of a word link. Do you know how to fix this? Thank you very much for your help, by the way. -- FOMA (Talk) 04:57, October 10, 2011 (UTC)

To be honest I have never encountered the problem of the word "show" to have the color white. But perhaps if you can show me the template your working on right now I can try to tweak it a bit. Once you show me that I will also try my best with the position of the "show". If Im unable to fix it dont worry I will ask for help with the technical users in wikia and they will eventually find a solution.

And your welcome; it's no trouble. C. Phantom  TalkContribs 03:48, October 14, 2011 (UTC)

IkarugaEdit

In chapter 125 page 14-15, Saotome said that Ikaruga Nazuna is now going by the name Ikagura Suiten. It looks like Nazuna and Suiten are the same character going by different names and not two different characters.--Masgrande 18:18, September 23, 2011 (UTC)

Nono you didn't got that. I meant we should have substitued the old pictures (there are some with those number on the up-left side or bad quality ones) , with new ones. Now i manage to substitute the one in the topics, but i cant' modify the ones in the character page. So we should fix in the all character's page, not in the topics of the respectful characters, you understand what I mean? Stormbrigader 09:25, October 9, 2011 (UTC)

Yes i mean that xD, i can provide the images, make some screens from the episode so that we can make substitutions, what you think? Stormbrigader 14:51, October 15, 2011 (UTC)

Twitter Edit

Hey, I'm Bereisgreat. You might've seen my around sometime on several anime wikis. I want to ask a huge favor. You know about the @WikiaAnime twitter feed that appears on nearly all anime wiki's, but what you might not know, is that I help tweeting those tweets. Kate.moon contacted me about it, but it's pretty hard managing with just the two of us. So we've been searching for other anime wiki admins to help out and so I ended up with you.

The only thing you need to do, is tweet as much as you can in the usual WikiaAnime style and that's it. You'd really help us with it and we hope we can work together. Kate.moon will explain the further details, if necessary. Let me know what you think :) Bereisgreat Shout! 70 edits on this Wiki 19:58, October 19, 2011 (UTC)

Have you thought about it yet? Bereisgreat Shout! 70 edits on this Wiki 16:29, October 21, 2011 (UTC)

Great! That's awesome! Kate will come back to you as soon as possible. Bereisgreat Shout! 70 edits on this Wiki 22:38, October 21, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, We've talked before about @WikiaAnime Twitter :) Thanks a lot for agreeing to help out with the Twitter account. Bereis great has been totally amazing with his tweeting and it's helped us get even more followers. I will actually be focusing more on social media from here on out so don't worry if you can't tweet very often.

Basically what we're trying to do is feature Wikia's amazing anime community with all of its amazing anime/manga wikis. You and Bereisgreat are really valuable because I know you guys are involved with a lot of them and know what's relevant and interesting right now, which I also try to keep up with.

I will tweet at LEAST once a day so don't feel like you HAVE to do one every day but if you see something particularly interesting that you really want to feature, please send it out on the account. Bereisgreat has been really great about following the tone of @WikiaAnime and I'm sure you'll find it easy to do also. Let me know if you need access to a bit.ly account (to shorten the links).

Wikia Anime Twitter is a really important project for me so I'm really excited to have the Community help out!

If you have any questions, just leave me a message. And I'd be happy to chat with you live also.

Let me know! [2] (talk) 23:50, October 21, 2011 (UTC)

FOMA? Do you still want to help us with the Twitter project or have you changed your mind? Cause you still haven't responded to Kate and we could use your help. Bereisgreat Shout! 70 edits on this Wiki 18:39, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, I understand that. Thanks for at least letting me know. Bereisgreat Shout! 70 edits on this Wiki 16:09, November 25, 2011 (UTC)

Dude, we need to set up a blog in this wikia. That way we could get more viewers and new wikia users who come to see our predictions, chapter reviews, etc. We need to make this wiki more exciting. Kuriani 14:18, October 28, 2011 (UTC)

Hi, why is the trailer page deleted? Is that not allowed? I thought it's a good way of showing people who might be new to the anime to have a little look at it.thx. Koosha 05:05, December 26, 2011 (UTC)

Fixed EditingsEdit

Hi :D I did some editings some time ago, and they were fixed, but i'm absolutely certain they're correct. For example, i fixed many times Zubub Spell or Zebel spell in Zebul Spell (because in japanese they say zeburu not zebubu nor zeberu) but it was re-fixed many other times and i re-re-fixed it now, same goes fore the Blast and the emblems, so i thought you could try making things to not change :D

Oh, i also added japanese lectures for Oga's techniques, but speaking of the Black Techs, since it is a fan translation of Ankoku Butou, wouldn't it be better if we say Ankoku butou and then Blach techs in the translation like i did with the Zebul techniques? (same goes for Kunieda)

P.s. One last thing xD i know i'm annoying but i think we should change (again i know) Oga's page Image, since he looks so sad in that pic, it doesn't even resemble him xD, so if you change it it would be great, and therefore change his mini-pic in the general charachter image :D

Answer me soon! Stormbrigader 18:08, December 29, 2011 (UTC)

Thank you! I'm glad then :D I'll read the section as you'll make it, and it's also good to make Ankokubuto one word :D i din't noticed it was a type of dance the only differeces are the last two kanji.

About the black techs i had doubts because i noticed that in the last chapters, the translators adopted some of our terminology so i think that somehow our work influences the chapters we read, so if we change, also chapters could change so if we write Ankokubuto people could get confused but since we write Black Techs in the translation note that's fine and if you agree then there's no problem! I fixed that error with the toggle. Seems that I gave you not quite everything to activate the template. But it works right now, so you can undo the rights right now. KidProdigy (UserpageTalk) 17:50, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

Manga to Anime replacements and iconsEdit

I noticed that in many cases, you uploaded screenshots of characters' faces from the manga, but then you re-uploaded over top of the image with how they appear in the anime. (example: File:Honoka_Furuichi.png)

I think both appearances are valuable, and would like to re-upload the original versions (with "manga" in the file name) and include them so people know how the appearance evolved over time, from BW to color and simple to detailed.

All I can think to do is save them and then upload them under a new name. Do you have any more efficient ideas?

Also noticed (like here and here we have a lot of thumbnail icons calmly depicting character's faces uploaded by User:Mikisi. Do you know where they were originally in use? If we're no longer using them in a list format, I would like to add them to each characters' pages. What do you think would be the ideal spot? I usually pick 'appearance' if nothing else stands out, since it's so small. +y 21:27, January 7, 2012 (UTC)

  • Ah okay, to tell the truth I was a bit distracted and overlooked the disambig things at the top which look glaringly obvious today, so I understand now. For the galleries, for a separate page do you mean like it would be Tatsumi Oga/Gallery? Can I make pages like this for every character and move the gallery coding box there and just provide a link to it in the section instead? Would it be okay to include every image of a character on the wiki in these gallery pages since it wouldn't burden their main page? For example could I make Hilda/Gallery and Aoi Kunieda/Gallery and put the pictures you removed from their main pages into a gallery there? I added a Category:Galleries to Oga's which someone made in 2011, it would be an easy way to keep track of them. +y 00:26, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

Q about censorshipEdit

Was reading:

"There are policies set in place for extremely bad language and pornographic content. However, all photos pertaining to the series and/or the Wiki will remain uncensored for encyclopedic purposes."

I just went and watched the OVA (and I'm glad I didn't watch it first, might have spoiled the surprises in the earlier episodes) and I'm not sure, but I think they put a lot more focus on jokes related to Beel's baby bits (comments like "they're on his head" or Takayuki making comments related to it.

Would it be appropriate to post one of those pictures to illustrate how ridiculously graphic they are about that? Or should we avoid doing so? +y 00:34, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

Hm to be honest I'm not really sure, it could clutter character articles, or just a mention Beel's page or the OVA in particular. +y@talk 12:07, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

Chapter 123...Edit

Hi me again :D, i noticed that some people when editing, quoted the chapters in which that thing or action appears or is committed by one of the characters, such as "Hilda in chapter 121 was kidnapped" or "Basilisk was defeated in chapter???". They even added it to former editing, i mean, they didn't edit nothing, they just added that that thing happened in that numbered chapter. I think it would be better to just quote the occasion in which things happen in the manga, such as "in the fight with..." or "when meeting..." rather than quoting the chapter don't you think? If you agree, can you do something to correct this? Excuse me for annoying you D: Stormbrigader 19:45, January 17, 2012 (UTC)

Yes that's what I meant :D , as i will see something like that i will edit it with no doubts :D Stormbrigader 14:54, January 18, 2012 (UTC)

Anime and Manga DifferencesEdit

Oh yes, I having trouble making side by side comparison images for the episode wiki pages. For some reason, they just stacked up at the side and disrupts the headers. This image is what I'm used to doing for my wiki community's episode wiki pages. Please see a link to the episode wiki page on Anime Vice. Takashichea 17:27, January 30, 2012 (UTC)

Episodes listEdit

I notice there's a list of the episodes at anime. I was wondering, to spread out the editing, do you think making an episodes page would be useful? Also I notice things like episode 1 and such direct to the actual titles of the episodes. Do you know how we figure out how to translate the words in any kind of official format in case there are disputes? Like I know some subbing groups translate it differently. Do we go with the way crunchyroll translates the titles in terms of words and capitalization due to their being the official distributor? Oh and I hope you don't mind but a lot of the comments on your talk weren't signed so I filled in that info by checking the histories. Since it's getting large, any interest in archiving? +y@talk 12:29, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

TakahashisEdit

I noticed how Kazutoshi+Takahashi Kazutoshi and Yoshiko+Takahashi Yoshiko redirected to Kazutoshi Takahashi and Yoshiko Takahashi. I am wondering if you knew if these were characters from Beelzebub? Someone tagged these redirects for deletion. Were they pages you were planning to make? +y@talk 14:41, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

Also just looked in Candidates for Deletion. There was a bunch of 'teimo tech' redirects you created pointing to a page I don't think was actually created yet. I made a stub page at that location we can expand, and removed the 'delete' templates from the redirects. There was this guy who I think was using script to tag unused redirects automatically.

Another issue is all the pages that point to Ryūichi_Sanada. These initially pointed to a blank page and were tagged for deletion, but someone created it with a picture. I'm going to assume it is of the person even though the one who made it reverted it, I put it back. I'm going to untag those because I think since you made the redirects this must be a real person in Beelzebub who just hasn't gotten a page yet.

Actually based in good faith, I'll make stubs for the other Takas you pointed to so that people who know who they are can expand them, this should prevent the redirects you prepared from getting tagged again by bots. +y@talk 15:47, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

  • Ah okay, didn't know Ryuji was diff (assumed was another mispell disambig) will fix. After creating the stubs and removing the delete tag from the redirects, and moving 1 essay some guy wrote to the watercooler/forum, the deletion tag thing is empty now. +y@talk 16:47, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

VolumesEdit

Ah okay, I thought they just hadn't been updated... although isn't it likely they will end up naming episodes the same thing too once the anime catches up? Figured may as well do it in advance. Another issue is, chronologically speaking didn't the names of the chapters actually precede the naming of the tankobons? +y@talk 17:17, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hm, the chapters usually have extensive plot summaries, volume pages are mostly just lists... I guess it just seemed like standard format that volumes were named later after one of their included chapters, so the smaller volume cat having the parentheses seemed like it'd be more uniform if they all had it. So far 3/8 in the cat have it (Honmakai (volume), I Picked Up the Demon Lord (volume), Saint Ishiyama Academy (volume)). +y@talk 17:28, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

Sure, did I end up making Volume 12/Volume 13/Volume 14 okay? They were missing and I made a couple mistakes filling out info at first but hope I caught everything. +y@talk 20:02, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

Father/motherEdit

Was wondering, for Oga's Father/Oga's Mother, even if the apostrophe's after the s (still think it looks odd since there are 2 children who're Ogas...) what about lowercsing father/mother since they aren't proper nouns? Unless of course they were referred to like a title in the credits or something is all I can figure.

Alternatively, perhaps Mr. Oga and Mrs. Oga? Though for latter I'm not sure if they're married... +y@talk 18:24, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

Visual editorEdit

I edit via plain source code, TBH I'm what that is... just checked preferences and it says it's off. Is that usually what I see on other wikis where there's a bunch of complex HTML in the source that clutters doing edits? +y@talk 20:18, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

  • Yeah I don't like the hi-software thing. Some wikias have been getting this 'message wall' feature which is a really confusing talk page replacer. When possible I also prefer to turn off the thing with Bold/Italics since it's possible to accidentally click it and introduce undesired code. +y@talk 21:21, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

SubsEdit

Anyway yeah sorry about the subtitles, didn't think about... this is softsubbed so I should be able to turn them off and re-add them cleaner. Do you know if there is a way to upload the cleaner ones overtop of the old ones? I'd like to do that to keep filenames the same. Otherwise should I do them under new names and then tag the subbed ones for deletion? Not sure. +y@talk 20:35, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

  • K will try doing this upload-over thing. +y@talk 21:21, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

PillarsEdit

I was wondering, since Category:Behemoth's 34 Pillar Division is so large, I noticed on the main article they are split into Barons/Generals. Do you think Category:Barons+Category:Generals would be good subcategories at some point? +y@talk 22:09, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

  • Ah okay, created them as you named. About the main page, I noticed the list of generals is in alph order, but the barons and jab's assistants aren't. Was there something wrong with alphabetizing them? I was wondering if the revert all changes was due to linking to the 5 guys whose spelling hadn't confirmed. As long as I assure they remain unlinked from the article page would it be okay to restore the other changes like the alphabetizing, and bullets>numbered, and tallying the numbers of the generals' subordinates? +y@talk 13:48, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

SaturaEdit

Disambiguation categories Edit

These are an easy way to keep track of the redirects that exist, like if somebody made a new article on a volume/chapter/episode but forgot to redirect its number to there.

Also: the reason I did that was because the manga/anime pages are very large and hi-data, viewing the list of what is present on the wiki in category fashion allows people to do it in a less resource-intensive way.

At a glance, linking someone to the page would provide (via the three-columns) a single-page glance at the content of the wiki, like if we wanted to show a screenshot or something. To know how many chapters are done on the manga page requires a lot of scrolling and stuff, and there'd be no telling in the future whether or not the chapter names'd been properly targetted to their new titles. +y@talk 12:02, February 2, 2012 (UTC)

TaniyurikaiEdit

I noticed on this page you said they have the same names as in MariaSama. Do you know when this is said? I heard the red-haired girl called Shino, but other than "Onee-sama" I didn't hear them addressed. Do they return and do so in ep 52, or are they possibly listed this way in the credits? Unfortunately the Yami article for the Foetida lacks pictures for these three, so I am unable to even match up who is who. While I wait for new Beelzebub episodes to come out, perhaps this is a good time to watch the anime? (44 eps + live film yay) and go expand that wiki, which seems to be only in beginning stages. +y@talk 15:54, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

Ah okay that makes sense. It's weird but even though I looked up the missing surnames, didn't notice the shino-Yoshino match. BTW how come you removed mention of the 13 other members and the pics of them? It's not just the 3 members even if they are the most notable ones who are named and have pages. +y@talk 17:15, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

NumbersEdit

Well, I'd probably say Naruto could make 'at least' 4 clones. I think that's how it was phrased on the page. Counting them at least provides a minimum. Anyway they are known members, even if they are unnamed members. Sort of like we do know about the lower-tier members of the pillars even if we don't know their names. I couldn't hear any dialogue to go off of from the sisters, closest I heard was one of the Red Tail saying 'a bunch' or something like that. +y@talk 17:28, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

This is kind of confusing, why is it not relevant if it's not phrased? It's still visible. If nobody ever mentions Chiaki's hair is black, should we avoid describing the colour of her hair because it's not verbalized? Oh, also since you put the 3 girls' char pages into Taniyurikai cat, would it be okay to make a Red Tail cat? At least for the 5 current members. If so, I would like your feedback on whether or not to include Aoi or Misaki. I'm not sure since they're former members. +y@talk 17:42, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

Hm, can we change to 'relevant' then? They do sorta have distinct meanings. Even so... the sheer numbers were relevant to the confrontation since the members of the RT expressed they were scared of the fight due to being outnumbered. When it was just the three at first they didn't appear very intimidated. +y@talk 17:48, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

I agree seeing something doesn't make it relevant, that's why I explained, it's since the pure numbers made the Red Tail members feel intimidated. I'm aware her hair color's in the inbobox, I guess the question is, why mention information like that? Has Chiaki's hair color affected the plot in any way? +y@talk 18:01, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

I realize it can be useful to mention character's hair colors even though we have pictures depicting it. Question was asked hypothetically because the Red Tails being outnumbered three to one was being demeaned as relevant info simply due to not being verbally addressed, which was why the hair example.

By not mentioning the other members, it's like the Red Tails outnumbered them 5 to 3 during the encounter, which they didn't. Considering the 3 members got their own char pages, a blurb about how much backup they had (wasn't proposing to give each flunky their own page, lol) didn't seem out of scope.

If not on the gang's article, it can't be mentioend on Komainu-sama is Watching? It just seems like printing the number helps to save the reader time of having to manually count the gang themselves. Also noticed that link to anime episode debue was [3] removed. If there's a problem with this working in the template can we not mention the episode title outside it in the main text? +y@talk 21:58, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

Red TailEdit

Also, TBH I found Aoi's mention of 300 people coming to be very surprising. Until then I had assumed the Red Tails to be a pretty small group. I'm not sure what the population of the Ishikawa school is, but probably a significant chunk (half, third?). There's mention of the 360 flunkies of the pillar generals (15x24) and the Red Tails alone are almost enough to counter that 1 to 1. File:Rt-pose.jpg gives some sense of size with ~20 girls watching the main trio, but I definitely didn't get the impression of 300 prior to ep 51, did you? +y@talk 22:08, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

Zebel Spell Edit

Hi, I just wanted to know why there's no page on the zebel spell. I wanted to make one, but it said it was deleted. Can someone tell me why? I think it's significant. 77.30.230.118 aero 19:14, February 26, 2012 (UTC)

It was vandalized. You can start a new page if you like. Just make sure you get the spelling right: Zebul Spell. -- FOAM (Talk) 21:41, February 26, 2012 (UTC)

Cool template featureEdit

I'm just realizing now that a feature you have on the templates used on the story articles on this wiki is pretty unique. On episodes, the template lists the manga chapters it was adapted from (if applicable, obv wouldn't be with filler) and the chapter templates list which episodes (if applicable) the chapter events were adapted into.

I was looking at the One Piece wikia right now and it doesn't have that, so when an article mentions a chapter something happens in, and I remember it happening in the anime, I have no idea what episode to look for to see it.

I've been thinking: pretty much every anime wiki should have this. Do you think there would be a way to make it more popular via animanga project or something? +y@talk 04:41, March 6, 2012 (UTC)

Aoi Kunieda Edit

Hi. I found a picture of Aoi from the anime that shows a good view of her face and it's a little clearer than her current profile pice. Is it okay if I can change Aoi's profile pic to the one I'm suggesting? Also, my snapshot suggestion can be found on my profile, just in case you were wondering which picture. But anyway, is it okay for me to make this change? --Glass Heart, 06:18, March 9, 2012 (UTC)

Reference SectionEdit

Hi, FOAM, I have a suggestion that we can possibly add to our Beelzebub articles. Maybe we can start a reference section and add appropriate references to wherever needed. It might construct some articles a little better and provide better sources for people who wish to locate where the said information has been found. Please tell me your input on this, if possible. Glass Heart (GHeart)    17:40, March 17, 2012 (UTC)

I added a reference section to Izō Aiba's article page. His page was shorter, newer, and (in my opinion) easier to make a new section, as a start-up at least. I'll add other references to other articles when I can, if that's all right. Hope this new reference section can work out. --Glass Heart (GHeart)    21:34, March 17, 2012 (UTC)

Story ArcsEdit

Sorry to bother you with more of my suggestions FOAM, but I've also been thinking of maybe creating new articles detailing the story arcs from the manga (and maybe even the anime). The reason is similar to the idea for references that I suggested earlier: to help other people get a clearer view on the manga/anime. It can also help people who're too lazy to just research off the articles on the wikia. I can create and construct the articles, if you'd prefer that I did, but I'd like to get input on the idea first. Glass Heart (GHeart) 02:30,3/20/2012

I have 7 story arcs that can be used, 5 of which are already posted on various articles in the Beelzebub wikia: the Tōhōshinki arc; the Demon World arc (which depicts the Demon World for the first time); the Saint Ishiyama Academy arc; the Prince En arc; the Akumano Academy arc; the Memory Loss arc; and the Field Trip arc (from Futaba's introduction to the current chapter). The Field Trip arc, because the plotline isn't fully developed, can be changed in name when more details are released, if you think that's better.
Regarding the chapters, I've segregated them as best as I possible can. Chapters 1-40 can be the Tōhōshinki arc; Chapters 41-47 can be the Demon World arc; Chapters 48-76 for the Saint Ishiyama Academy arc; Chapters 77-113 for the Prince En arc; Chapters 114-138 for the Akumano Academy arc; Chapters 139-142 Memory Loss arc; and Chapters 143 to the current chapter for Field Trip arc. Glass Heart (GHeart) 02:30,3/20/2012

Sure, if you prefer it'll be named the Okinawa arc that's fine with me. Glass Heart (GHeart) 03:34,3/21/2012

Beelzebub Fanon WikiEdit

Hey FOAM. I recently came across a Beelzebub fanon wiki that was up for adoption. [ http://beelzebubfanon.wikia.com/wiki/Beelzebub_Fanon_Wiki ]. So, I adopted it for the moment because I would like to make some fanon. It would be great if you could take it from me and manage it because I don't know anything about wikis or how to manage it. If you can't, could you please atleast contribute to it by adding your own fan-made characters and stories and inviting other users in this wiki to the fanon wiki. I am sorry that I cannot help you set up a blog. I am just not familiar with it. I still think a blog could help improve your wikia drastically though. Kuriani 01:50, April 2, 2012 (UTC)

Hey. I recently found a collection of raw color spreads from the chapters, mainly chapter covers, and I'm wondering if it's okay to put them on the respective chapter articles. Hilda is an ignored heroine? Edit

I discover she has a few scene in every eposide on comic and anime (include OP), so I want to write the following short article: I know you are the heroine on this work, so you have the same scene of the hero Oga Tatsumi and his partner Baby Beel. Because it is unchangeable rule of every animate.

However you have a treatment is a female supporting role and less than Kunieda Aoi and Furuichi Takayuki, also you have a few scene in every opening and some episode (e.g. 49) and even go to school. You know? You must not imitate Tojo Hidetora! Because you must learning everyday to improve your personal appreciation if you want to become the best Demon Maidservant.

To match up this article, now I enclosure the music video "A few (少數)" by Hong Kong male singing group "C Allstar" to let you admire:

It'll be good if you answer, I'm planning to fix and improve some pages. Thank you for your concern, and as I said, sorry to bother you.

Latest Arc Name Edit

Personally, I would say that it's better to use full name of the school for the arc. It's more formal and it goes with the other story arc containing the name of a school. (Saint Ishiyama Academy Arc). Glass Heart (GHeart) 06:11,2/22/2013

Of course. Glass Heart (GHeart) 22:45,2/22/2013

Image Thumbnails Edit

Hello. As you're most likely aware, below the caption on all of the image thumbnails, there is a line where it shows who uploaded the latest revision of that file. Frankly, it looks distracting and doesn't flow well with the rest of the image thumbnail. So, if you agree on this and/or would be okay with having it removed, would you add the following CSS to MediaWiki:Wikia.css? All it does is remove the uploader's name and everything like it says.

/* Remove User Caption Underneath Thumbnails */
.WikiaArticle .picture-attribution {display:none;}

200px/250px ---> 300px Edit

Hello! So I was looking back at the Page Layout policies and well, the image sizes for the infoboxes are pretty inconsistent. Chapter pages are supposed to be set at 200px, Music pages with 250px, then Characters and Episodes at 300px. I understand that the images used for these different articles have a general size, like the chapter covers typically being 1,000 x 1,500 or so, so depending on how wide or long these images are it has a different effect on the layout of the page. Though, frankly, I think it would be a little better if there was a set image size that works for all of the articles since then it'll be consistent. Setting it all at 300px would personally look better in my opinion since, along with the other points that I mentioned, the image in the infobox is supposed to be like a better representation of the entire article visually; naturally, I would see it as being the largest image compared to the rest (if there is any). Besides, as far as I know, this extra increase (or decrease) on the infoboxes doesn't change it much. Glass Heart (GHeart) 01:59,2/24/2013

I'm aware that the length of the chapter covers usually tends to stretch down a lot when set at 300px from 200px and I agree on the "representation" part. However, like I said, it will be consistent if all of the infoboxes have the same size set for their images, which I preferably think is better if it were all at 300px. And also, due to the class of the infobox, unless you're setting the image size at around 320px, the infobox is not going to affect the article in terms of width; just the length. I think that's fairly noticeable with the spacing on the sides of the image like in most of the chapter pages.

Edit

Hello there, I decided to help out in this wiki, I'm not good with articles but I'd say my stronger suit is with templates and other designs. I made these new logos, one for Oasis and the other one for Mono. I hope you like it.

Idea Edit

Hello again, FOAM! I apologize if this is going to sound like I'm prying and all but I was wondering whether it would be alright if we did a slight redesign on the infoboxes on the wiki?

To be honest, the style of the currents are okay on my part though I do believe they can be much better with a good improvement. There are some current codes in the infobox that would cause specific articles (such as Great Demon Lord), with generally low information that can be used to fill out the template, to look awkward and somewhat unappealing to an extent. I suppose that changing around some codes would fix this although I believe that with the class of the current infoboxes, doing such adjustments would probably cause a need for a reformatting and also redesigning. For example, the width of all of the infoboxes is strictly set around 310px that leave an extra spacing in most articles that generally look awkward. I understand that you want the width to remain consistent which is why, as I stated earlier, it could be better if there is a set size for all of the images for the infoboxes that is reasonably large enough so that it isn't as small as the thumbnails (which I believe are supposed to be set at 200px or lower). I'm still somewhere at a 300px for all of it though something like a 250px for example could also work. Consistency is a favorable aspect, as a majority (including myself) would tend to think. So, what do you think? Go for an infobox redesign that would probably be better on the wiki?
Glass Heart (GHeart) 04:56,2/28/2013

So, your thoughts? Given that you're not inactive, my assumption is that you're either having talk page notification issues, or simply ignoring them for whatever reason. Glass Heart (GHeart) 23:26,3/4/2013

Well, here's a prototype, perhaps it's best to call it: http://i.imgur.com/Uxjxodk.png It's a slight modification of a very similar infobox that I use on some of my other wikis. There's really not too many changes between this and the current infobox that we have on the wiki; as a matter of fact, it's primarily inclusions in the prototype, such as a link to the Image Galleries (which I think should be added for all of the characters and improved a bit) and boxes for Affiliation and Base of Operations, as well as their formers. Things that can go in the Affiliation would be groups such as the Tohoshinki and Red Tail. For the Base of Operations, that would attribute to where the character particularly bases themselves on. For delinquents, it can be like Ishiyama High School, or for someone like the Great Demon Lord, which is the Demon World.

I thought about some other things that can be added to this but I'd like to know how you think of this redesign first. Glass Heart (GHeart) 01:39,3/5/2013

The template's coded so that if you need to leave information blank, like the Affiliation and Previous Affiliation sections for Oga's case, they will not show up in the visual format. Glass Heart (GHeart) 23:18,3/5/2013

Powers & AbilitiesEdit

Hi, I thoguht it would be nice to make all Character pages similar, so given that many who had powers and fighting abilities had this abilities described in sections named differently (Powers, Abilities, Powers & Abilities, Fighting style) I thought to rename Powers & Abilities every section with this purpose. You think it's right this way? Stormbrigader (talk) 15:59, March 2, 2013 (UTC)

Alright, so I'll be making these changes for the infoboxes on the wiki. And sure, feel free to use the codes for it. Glass Heart (GHeart) 02:28,3/6/2013

Re: Tabako = Ringo Hojo Edit

I do not understand Japanese enough to read the text but does it actually say anything that makes your statement true? If not then it isn't actually confirmed that they are indeed the same person.
Glass Heart (GHeart) 06:29,3/19/2013

I see... Alright, well I'll take your word for it. I'll redirect Tabako to Ringo Hōjō and handle other related stuff.

Re: Chapter Release Dates Edit

Are you sure? I've been using the WSJ webpage to check out when new issues have been released; they have the issue number and release date, plus some other info on the contents. From what I've gathered, each issue is released on a Monday. There's also the fact that the new chapter (from any of the WSJ series) is posted just days afterwards, both raw and fan-scanlated. To me, it seems very unlikely that what you're saying about release dates is true because that would mean contents from the select Issue (such as the recent Issue 21) are being released before it's actual print publication. Glass Heart (GHeart) 03:14,4/22/2013

I did a little extra researching and, from what several other sources have informed me, you are actually right on the official chapter releases. So, my mistake(s) for getting the release dates and issue numbers wrong. :P But I'll be sure to keep what you said in mind so I don't forget. Also, I'll fix up the release dates currently numbered on the recent 10 or so so don't worry about those.

Monobook Theme(?) Edit

Hey, FOAM! I've been thinking about this for a while actually but I was wondering whether you'd consider a Monobook theme for the wiki? I understand that Monobook is used by a lesser group of registered users given the Oasis switch some years(?) ago I believe but it's still nice to give the wiki a nice look for those who do use Monobook, including myself. :P Right now it's set with the default look, except for the wordmark over the sidebar, but aside from that it's really bland. I know that there is a wiki that was originally created to make such themes for wikis that request one so the administrators don't have to design it all by themselves. So, what do you say?
Glass Heart (GHeart) 22:16,4/29/2013

Still having talk page message issues, aha? :P Glass Heart (GHeart) 21:47,5/3/2013

Ah, well I sort of figured. Hope those IRL issues don't become too troublesome for you.

And it's great that you approve! Not a lot of users are very accepting of Monobook, unfortunately. Monobook themes are applied by implementing CSS to MediaWiki:Monobook.css, by the way. It's definitely not as simple as changing the look in Oasis with that Theme Designer option from the Admin Dashboard though you have a lot of freedom with the designing; still a little difficult to do if you don't know some of the stuff you're doing. That's why there's the Monobook Wiki which designs themes to one's liking. I would recommend requesting a theme from them since you said you're busy IRL (they accept requests from administrators or users who received administrative approval). I can also ask some other users that I'm acquainted with (that have designed complete Monobook themes) to design a theme for this wiki if that's alright with you. Glass Heart (GHeart) 06:09,5/4/2013

Alright, though I have one concern which applies more or less with Oasis as well. The background, firstly, is more of a special occasion look considering how the series just celebrated four years of serialization a few months ago, I believe, and it will eventually be outdated. It sort of is now depending on how you look at it. It's also going to look weird for users with a monitor resolution that is above 1366x768 even if you have the image repeat or stick. The previous background would be more suitable personally to use. For both skins, to be honest. Glass Heart (GHeart) 05:16,5/6/2013

The largest size for a monitor that I normally see would be a 1920x1200 in pixels. I'm not an expert when it comes to this so I can't say it is the largest for computer-made screens. You'll have to know that screens for a TV can work in the same manner for computers and they are generally much larger nowadays; as for the pixel sizes on these, that I'm not too sure on.
